It all started just a few days after my baby girl was born. I looked at her and knew I wanted to document this journey, to capture the fleeting moments of fatherhood, and to share the very real, often messy experience of raising kids. I decided it was time to create a blog. Back in the day, if you wanted to share your life online, you fired up a page on Blogger, LiveJournal, or WordPress. But times had changed, and by 2018, Instagram was the powerhouse platform where everyone was connecting. So, instead of a traditional website, I took to social media and launched The Dad Gram as a humble hobby. My goal was simple: to share pictures of my kids, document our family travels, write out the intricate details of my parenting experience, and hopefully, break down some barriers around modern fatherhood along the way. I still remember the rush of those first few posts. Getting a notification for a like was genuinely exciting. In the very beginning, I would get exactly four likes. One was mine, one was from my mother, one was from my sister, and of course, one was from Saliha, my endlessly supportive wife. It was an incredibly intimate audience, but it meant the world to me. Soon enough, though, more people started showing up. It wasn't an overnight explosion of fame, but rather a slow, steady build of a genuine community. Within a year or two, we crossed the 10,000 follower mark, which felt like a massive milestone. The platform grew because it took its time, allowing me to truly connect with other parents navigating the exact same sleepless nights and joyous milestones. As The Dad Gram became more popular, I started enjoying the creative process even more. I expanded from simple photo posts into making videos and eventually began collaborating with brands. What had started as a quiet outlet to share family pictures naturally evolved into a fulfilling side business. Today, while I absolutely still love creating content, the growth has made me much more self-aware about what I am putting out into the digital world. I am incredibly intentional about the messages I share. My ultimate priority is to ensure that as this platform continues to grow, my morals, integrity, and honesty remain entirely intact. The Dad Gram is still just a dad sharing his journey, trying to make a positive impact, one post at a time.
