Building Zaira’s Enchanted Flower Garden Nursery

Eight years ago, long before our beautiful daughter, Zaira, was even born, we already had a clear vision. We always knew that we wanted a pink nursery for our little girl; a space that felt magical, warm, and entirely her own. Saliha and I started working on it months in advance, pouring our hearts into every little detail to bring this dream to life. The central theme we envisioned was a whimsical flower garden. To make that happen, we adorned the walls with an array of beautiful paper flowers, each one meticulously made by hand. Looking back at the picture I posted, you can still see how those stunning pink and white blooms cascaded across the wall, bringing that vibrant garden feeling right into the room. Nestled among the flowers were delicate butterfly wall stands, perfectly framing the space. Right in the center of it all, her name ZAIRA glowed warmly with built-in marquee lights. One of the most challenging, but ultimately rewarding, elements of the nursery was the magnificent gold crown hanging above her crib. We wanted a crown carved entirely out of wood, but getting it just right took a very long time. It needed to bend perfectly to accommodate the soft drapery while maintaining its intricate carved details. We also went back and forth to find the exact right tone of gold. Positioned as the centerpiece of her sleeping area, it was absolutely worth the effort. When it came to furniture, the chest of drawers had to be special. We specifically wanted a piece that offered both hanging space and traditional drawers. Even before she arrived, we had already collected so many tiny, beautiful dresses and shoes, and we needed the perfect place to organize and store them all. The white chest we chose fit the room's aesthetic beautifully while giving us the exact functionality we needed. It is hard to believe it has been eight years since we put this room together. We set out to build a flower garden, and looking back at those memories, it was the perfect fairy-tale space for Zaira's first chapters.
